Pate Kodè (Fried Haitian Patties)

Ingredients

1/ 2 Smoke Herring

4 boiled eggs

1 onion

1 tomato

1/3 chilli

1 cubed broth

1/2 bell pepper

Make Paté Kodé Dough

2.5 cups of water

Salt

1/2 stock cube

3 tbsp of Oil

3 cups sifted flour

Instructions

Make Paté Kodé Dough:

In a small bowl add the water, salt, half a cube, oil and adjust the seasoning based on your taste .

Mix until the base dissolved in water

Add the Sift flour in medium bowl then add the base all together and mix well to combine

Using your hands, knead the dough until dough it’s not sticky continue kneading until its soft.

Leave the dough to rest for about an hour

⠀⠀⠀ Filings : Soak your herring in some cold water for at least one hour and then drain it

Chop the smoke herrings, boiled eggs ,onion, tomato, bell pepper, and chili

Mixed all of them together

Stuffed the dough with all the filings

Press the edges together with your hands to ensure that all of the delicious filling stays firmly inside

Add 1 cup of oil to frying pan or pot on a medium to high heat

. When the oil is hot , add the patties in pan and fry until its golden and perfect for you!

Drain it
